Springwood Presbyterian Church: Whitsett, NC

Actions taken at the regular stated meeting November 19, 2009:

• Agreed by common consent to end our business with the last renters in the manse by retaining their deposit and collecting the keys.
• Agreed with pleasure to accept Robin Bunton by transfer of membership from First Presbyterian Church in Burlington.

Actions taken at the special called meeting on December 6, 2009:

• Voted to accept a transfer of the trusteeship of the D. P. Foust Trust that benefits Springwood Church.  The trusteeship will no longer be in New Hope Presbytery but will be Springwood Church.
• Voted to designate the officers of Springwood Church Corporation as the named Trustees of the D. P. Foust Trust with the Guilford County Clerk of Court.

Actions taken at the regular meeting on December 17, 2009:

• Passed a motion to accept the letter of membership transfer from First Presbyterian Church of Burlington for Robin Bunton.  Robin spoke briefly to the Session.
• Passed a motion to authorize Cindy Ingle to meet with Debbie Dunbar of Darl Fowler, Attorney, for training on filing the annual Trust documents with the Clerk of Court; and to accept charges for such training from this law firm.
• Passed a motion to accept the proposed budget for 2010 presented by the Stewardship Committee with thanks for their work.
• Agreed by common consent that we should reconsider carpeting the sanctuary while the pews are removed for painting.  Barry will speak to our contractor about a price break.  Mike Griggs will present information about carpeting and about the Foust Trust disposition, including the grant received from Salem Presbytery Home Missions for our water and sewer project.
• Reviewed Elders list and Agreed to accept as Elders Emeritus any of those mentioned who will meet the qualifications by the end of 2009.
• Received the Treasurer's report showing a decline in giving for the year.
• Approved the form for submission to Presbytery regarding the Pastoral Call of Rev. Walker.
