*CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: Ascribe to the Lord, O heavenly beings, ascribe
to the Lord glory and strength.
People: Ascribe to the Lord the glory of his name;
worship the Lord in holy splendor.
Leader: The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the
Lord sits enthroned as king forever.
People: May the Lord give strength to his people!
May the Lord bless his people with peace!
All: Let us worship God.
*HYMN #326 (Presbyterian Hymnal) "SPIRIT OF GOD,
DESCEND UPON MY HEART"
*PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Lord, we need your strength, yet it
is your will that others rely on us in the ministries so
desperately needed here at home and around the world.
Just as you brushed aside the Baptist’s protests and
humbly stepped into the waters to be baptized, so you have
smiled at our fears and insisted we plunge into the world.
Forgive us our doubts and fill us with your fire! Amen.
*ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS
*RESPONSE: GLORIA PATRI
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the
Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever
shall be, World without end. Amen, Amen.
