Children

"Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me,
and do not hinder them,
for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.'"

(Matthew 19:14, New International Version)

Our Vision

To provide a joyful, caring, educational environment in which God's children can grow in their relationship with Christ and love of others, and better recognize God's presence in their lives and the world around them.

Springwood does this by providing an intergenerational family environment.  There are classes and activities just for the children.  But there are also many opportunities for parents, children, and other members of the congregation to all have fun and interact together.  And we welcome children from the community to all of our events, whether you attend Springwood Church or not.

We love our children!

On-going Children's Ministries

Parent's Night Out

Parent's Night Out is a program that serves both the children and the parents.  Always on a Friday evening from 5:30 to 9:00 pm, it gives caregivers a much-needed break.  Go ahead, watch a movie, go out to eat, or catch up on some errands.  And don't worry, your kids will be well cared for and have a great time.  The children receive dinner, play games, do crafts, and wind down the evening watching a movie.  The cost?  Free.  Check out our Calendar of Upcoming Events for the next Parent's Night Out.

Vacation Bible School

Summer Camp!  Each summer we host Vacation Bible School for children of all ages, as well as our teenagers.   It is built around a theme and includes Bible lessons, crafts, songs, snacks, and recreation.  Stay tuned for more information about this year's Bible School.  Check out our Calendar of Upcoming Events for more details.

Christmas Program

The children are an integral part of our church-wide Christmas program every December.  It always features singing, food, costumes, and drama.  And of course, it focuses our hearts towards the birth of the Christ-child.

For more information about any of our children's ministries, please contact Ann Jennings.

Greetings! From Reverend Dale Walker

Lent begins Wednesday, February 18: Ash Wednesday. Traditionally, Christians have used the six weeks of Lent to prepare for the grace of Christ’s resurrection. Fasting, penitence, prayer, scripture reading, acts of sacrifice and service are some of the disciplines we may use to reflect on our relationship with God and to stretch ourselves spiritually. If you have a special way of keeping Lent, would you let me know? I’d like to be able to share those ideas with the congregation—your anonymity protected, of course—to encourage others to deepen their relationship with God during these weeks (Read more)
